About the band:
Bob Davoli writes "jazz-infused folk music" - a style influenced by artists as diverse as Charlie Patton, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, John Prine, Tom Waits and Chet Baker. He has assembled a band of the area's best musicians to collectively transmute his original lyrics and music into melodic and harmonic flights of imagination. Blending roots music with Modernist vocal harmonies, the ensemble explores deeply contoured emotional landscapes with virtuosity and good humor.
Featuring Davoli on acoustic guitar and vocals along with guitarist / lap steeler Kevin Barry (Peter Wolf, Rosanne Cash), trumpet wunderkind Phil Grenadier (Ella Fitzgerald, John Scofield), bassist Marty Ballou (Peter Wolf, Tom Waits), vocalists Gabriela Martina (Meshell Ndegeocello, J.R. Robinson) and Sissy Castrogiovanni (Bobby McFerrin, Jack DeJohnette, Clarice Assad), and percussionist Giuseppe Paradiso (Arto Tuncboyaciayan, David Fiuczynski).
